Bonobos and chimps are our closest genetic relatives. Bonodos are pacifists, dissolving their differences by making love while chimpanzees are aggressive warmongers and in some cases cannibals. This digital portrait from a photo of a Bonobo is a study for a new painting contemplating this duality in our roots and consequently our supposedly evolved human nature.
